For the first time since the pandemic we are having a “proper” National Show. This is where competitors from all around the UK get together to compete for the coveted Best in Show award.

It is being held at Gloucester Cathedral and looks like being a super show. If you want to join an organised trip Salisbury Flower Club are running a coach and have a few spaces still at £42.50 to include entry to the show.

If you are interested in what the competitions will include here is the schedule and the layout of the site and also the competition regulations.

Here are some useful frequently asked questions

1. Will there be toilets?

Yes, toilets are booked and will be on site.

2. Will we be able to sit down?

Yes, there will be seats placed around the Cathedral and benches in the grounds.

3. Will we be able to get refreshments?

Yes, both on staging day and throughout the Show, there will be vans selling a variety of food and drink in the Cathedral grounds, with seating. Also, the Cathedral Cafe will be open, and there are a number of cafes in the immediate vicinity, who will be notified that the Show is taking place.

4. Can we park?

Yes, there are several car parks, both level and multi-storey within a reasonable walking distance of the Cathedral.

5. Will there be assistance to carry equipment for staging?

Yes, we are arranging for assistance to be on site, but please be aware of how portable your equipment is. There will also be a limited number of trolleys available.

6. Will we have access to water?

Yes, there will be a water bowser on site.

7. Is the floor of Gloucester Cathedral very uneven?

Whilst the building is medieval, it has been maintained well. The floor is not dangerously uneven.

8. Will we be able to take photographs?

Yes.

9. Is there extra lighting being installed?

No, we are not providing extra lighting however the ambient lighting is good.

10. Can we dispose of our rubbish?

Yes, there will be a skip on site.

11. Can food be taken into Gloucester Cathedral?

Only bottles of water may be taken in, no other food or drink is permitted.
