All Saints Celebrate!

Today saw All Saints Flower Arranging Club celebrating their 45th Anniversary.

The club started when 13 ladies, whose flower arranging classes had been unexpectedly cancelled, decided to open a club themselves. Two of those original members were at the afternoon tea today to celebrate.

Demonstrator Irene Hickson came and did a “Dem and Do”. If you have never had one of these your demonstrator shows you one demonstration design and then a second design that the members all then have a go at doing - so somewhere between a demonstration and a workshop.

There were lots of beautiful spring flowers on show and the “forest” design worked really well. The club has several new members and even today had a visitor who decided to join at the end of the session.

After making their designs the members got together for the cutting of the cake. Area Chairman Pip Bensley said a few words commending the club on all their hard work creating such a friendly active club.

Members then tucked into a delicious “pot luck” afternoon tea followed by a slice of the celebration cake.

45 years is something to be enormously proud of so “well done All Saints!”
