Flower Crowns at BBC Gardeners’ World

The Education Team led by Val Hockley were in action over the Bank Holiday Weekend at the BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair at Beaulieu. The eco friendly flower crowns were so popular last year that the BBC Show Team asked us to return in a dedicated marquee and do timed workshops.

Val Hockley has worked really hard in the background to organise teams of wonderful volunteers to help run the workshops and to gather together enough 1m long ivy strands and mixed foliage to make the requested 420 flower crowns!

The response from the public was amazing and they loved doing something so calming and mindful. We handed out hundreds of cards offering a free visit to the workshop visitors and a friend at a selection of flower clubs in the area who volunteered at the last council meeting. The response to this card was excellent and we are looking forward to welcoming these visitors to our clubs.
