Judges

Our area and national flower arranging judges are fully accredited. They undergo intensive training and ongoing development. Martina Coleman heads up our judging team and is happy to answer your judging questions and suggest the perfect judge for your show

    NATIONAL

    Judges at major shows around the UK, but happy to be invited to judge any show.

    Michael has judged at several NAFAS National Shows, three WAFA events and arbitrated the judging panel at WAFA Barbados.

    NATIONAL

    Great privilege to be invited to judge and am alway excited to receive the schedule and research on the class titles. The ingenuity of exhibitors never ceases to amaze me and I also learn when judging. It is up to us to encourage entries to shows too by our comment cards

    NATIONAL & JUDGES REPESENTATIVE

    Happy to judge at all levels with written comment cards. Also able to give an Oral overview of results and exhibits for NAFAS Club competitions. Please contact to discuss your requirements and format. Will judge both NAFAS and local Horticultural/Garden Club shows.

    Donna is happy to travel round the whole area and beyond. Donna is a keen competitor herself and so keeps up to date with all the latest trends and techniques

    Available to judge NAFAS shows at national, club and area level, local horticultural shows and garden club shows.

    NATIONAL

    I am happy to work at all levels.

    I have experience from encouraging exhibitors at local level up to working in the top flight of judging both in the UK and Internationally.

    I have also judged both Floral Design and Floristry Competitions for the RHS at Chelsea Flower Show. I am an RHS Senior Judge and Moderator.

    NATIONAL

    I thoroughly enjoy being in a competition venue whether judging or competing, there is something very special about the whole experience. I am also currently Vice Chairman of the National Judging committee for NAFAS and hope to encourage my love of competitions to all.

    AREA

    I am a qualified English and Drama teacher so admiring and commenting upon exhibits is always a rewarding experience; judging is a privilege and I see encouragement of the competitor as paramount especially through constructive use of comment cards. I am enjoy the challenge of evaluating different artistic and practical interpretations of subjects and themes on the show bench.

    Every show that you judge will be different. You never know what you are going to see on the show bench which is all part of the great judging challenge.

    AREA

    Even after 13 years of judging, arriving at a Show I am always filled with a sense of excitement and privilege to be one of the first to see the creative work of the competitors. Unless it is a club competition only the Stewards and Judge or Judges will be present, the competitors having disappeared leaving just the staged exhibits. There is an atmosphere of calm and stillness, perfect for the judge to concentrate on the task in hand but in other situations I'm usually oblivious to any background chatter whilst I immerse myself in appreciating, assessing and placing the exhibits. What a joy to see the class titles brought to life.
