Flower Arranger Photoshoot
Glorious autumn colour by Michael Bowyer.
You may have already heard but the area took part in a photoshoot with the Flower Arranger Editor, Chloe Bryan-Brown this January. The arrangers were a mixtures of “old hands” and “new faces” to give an interesting range of designs. Michael Bowyer, Pip Bensley, Mala Williams and Heather Ingham all had experience of creating designs for The Flower Arranger while Jane Thatcher, Donna Savage, Miyuki Griffin and Martina Coleman were new to the experience.
The request for a shoot came in the run up to Christmas and it was touch and go whether we could get a venue, a team of arrangers and autumnal plant material together in time. In the end we settled on January 15th as the day and Steve and Heather Ingham very kindly let us use their lovely home as a “studio”.
Now of course we can’t tell you anything that happened at the shoot until the photos are published so I thought I would take you back in time to see what the area created last time we did one of these back in 2013.
It was a different location – the much missed Chris Wright’s quirky home in Hamble and a different team – Michael Bowyer, Wendy Howden, Heather Veal and Pat Maple were the experienced designers and Pip Bensley, Mala Williams, Anne Maree Dicker and Chris Wright were the new faces.
This time we were shooting Christmas designs and Judith Blacklock was the editor but our photographer Ollie Gordon was the same. We made designs we had planned and prepared and also some that just happened on the spur of the moment.
Here are some of our snaps taken on the day giving you the highlights of what we made back in 2013 to whet your tastebuds to find out what we created this January!
